SUMMER PROGRAMS

ME has gained recognition for its exceptional summer programs in language arts, mathematics, test preparation, college admissions, and ESL. Students are carefully assessed and attend group courses (limited to 6 students per group for Learning Camp and 8 students per group for other camps) customized to meet their academic needs and to prepare them for the challenges of the coming year.

SAT / COLLEGE PREP CAMP
(entering grades 9-12)

Students receive 100 hours of instruction (5 hours a day) over 4 weeks. Classes cover writing, critical reading, and math sections of the SAT. Students further develop their writing skills as they create professional resumes and college application essays. ADVANCED SAT VERBAL CAMP
(entering grades 11-12)

This group is designed for students who have scored at least 680 on the critical reading and 680 on the writing sections (with a timed-writing score of 4 or higher) on one of ME’s Practice SAT tests (or other recent SAT test). This group follows a fast-paced, intensive curriculum designed to fine-tune students’ performance on the SAT. Group meets 20 hours (2˝ hours twice a week) for 4 weeks. Meeting times to be announced. LEARNING CAMP
(entering grades 3-9)

This innovative course provides 100 hours (5 hours a day) for 4 weeks of focused instruction in language arts, math, test-taking strategies (WASL, ISEE, SSAT) and LEGO® Mindstorms® (a course in robotics developed by MIT and used internationally). Students gain a lasting learning experience in which they develop language, math, problem-solving, computer, and cooperation skills. Click to see details.

COLLEGE ADMISSIONS PREP CAMP
(entering grades 11-12)

This course is for students who wish to take charge of the college admissions process to maximize their chances of gaining access to the college(s) of their choice. Course work focuses on curriculum planning, profile and resume development, test deadlines, college selection, application preparation, admission essays, and interview practice. ADVANCED SAT MATH CAMP
(entering grades 11-12)

This program is for students who have scored at least 680 on the math portion on one of ME’s Practice SAT tests and have previously studied or are about to be enrolled in a Pre-Calculus course. Students will follow a fast paced, intensive, academically challenging curriculum designed to improve students’ performance in SAT math, SAT math subject tests, and ACT math. ESL CAMP
(entering grades 5 and higher)

This intensive program provides 60 hours (3 hours a day) for 4 weeks of direct instruction in reading, writing, vocabulary, and pronunciation combined with conversational activities to develop competence in English. Students learn about American culture, family life, ethnic diversity, education, and the media. Those planning to attend college in the US will also develop their classroom language skills, academic writing, public speaking, and note-taking strategies. Click to see details.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS

ME offers one-on-one tutoring year round, providing instruction that is individually tailored to you or your child's specific needs and goals.
